MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (CNG FUELLING STATION)

Salary:₦800,000 – ₦1,000,000 Net Monthly (Depending on Experience and Technical Competence)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance operations within our CNG Fuelling Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the effective management of maintenance personnel and contractors.

The role requires a strong technical leader capable of driving maintenance excellence, optimizing asset performance, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Management

  • Supervise and coordinate all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across the facility.

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, shutdown plans, and work programs.

  • Coordinate equipment inspections, servicing, testing, and commissioning activities.

  • Monitor equipment reliability, availability, and performance to minimize operational downtime.

  • Ensure timely execution of maintenance activities in line with operational requirements.

  • Establish maintenance priorities based on operational risk and business needs.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and third-party service providers.

  • Assign maintenance tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and technical mentoring of maintenance personnel.

  • Identify training needs and facilitate staff development programs.

  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of operational excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Asset Reliability & Performance Improvement

  • Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment issues.

  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance strategies.

  • Monitor maintenance KPIs, equipment downtime, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

  • Recommend modifications and upgrades to improve asset reliability and efficiency.

Budget, Inventory & Resource Management

  • Manage maintenance budgets and control departmental expenditures.

  • Monitor spare parts inventory levels and ensure availability of critical components.

  • Coordinate procurement activities for maintenance materials, tools, and services.

  • Optimize resource allocation to achieve maintenance objectives within budget.

  • Prepare maintenance reports and budget forecasts for management review.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies and procedures.

  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and routine workplace inspections.

  • Participate in audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews.

  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with industry regulations, engineering standards, and company requirements.

  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions where necessary.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the maintenance team.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare and submit maintenance performance reports and operational updates.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment history.

  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and provide recommendations for performance improvement.

  • Support management in strategic planning, asset management, and operational decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Professional certifications in Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, or Project Management will be an added advantage.

  • Relevant HSE certifications are highly desirable.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years of maintenance experience within CNG stations, LNG facilities, gas processing plants, manufacturing environments, power plants, or the oil and gas sector.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.

  • Proven experience managing maintenance teams, contractors, and industrial assets.

  • Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
