Salary: ₦300,000 – ₦450,000 Monthly
Role Overview
The Accounts & Revenue Officer is responsible for ensuring that all services delivered are accurately captured, billed, and collected. This is a hands-on operational finance role focused on daily revenue reconciliation, billing integrity, and cash management across diagnostic imaging and outpatient services.
The role works closely with the Operations Manager and front desk team to ensure full financial visibility, accountability, and revenue assurance within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Revenue Reconciliation (Core Priority)
- Reconcile daily patient volumes against services rendered and payments received
- Ensure all diagnostic and outpatient procedures are accurately billed with no omissions
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain a daily revenue tracker with clear and accurate reporting
2. Billing & Pricing Control
- Oversee billing processes across all services
- Ensure correct pricing is consistently applied
- Collaborate with front desk and clinical teams to correct billing errors in real time
- Maintain and regularly update service price lists
3. Cash & Payment Management
- Monitor all incoming payments (cash, POS, transfers)
- Ensure proper documentation and accountability for all transactions
- Reconcile daily cash collections with front desk staff
- Escalate discrepancies or irregularities immediately
4. Revenue Assurance & Leakage Prevention
- Identify missed charges, underbilling, and process gaps
- Implement controls to prevent revenue loss
- Track high-value services to ensure complete capture
- Support internal audits of billing and collections
5. Reporting & Financial Visibility
- Prepare daily and weekly revenue reports
- Track key metrics such as patient volumes, revenue per service, and payment channels
- Provide clear financial insights to the Operations Manager and leadership
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
6. Expense & Cost Tracking
- Monitor operational expenses and flag anomalies
- Track consumables usage in collaboration with the Operations team
- Support cost control and efficiency initiatives
7. Accounts Receivable Management
- Track outstanding payments from HMOs, corporates, and partners
- Follow up on overdue invoices
- Maintain accurate records of receivables and collections
8. Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain reliable financial tracking systems (Excel or accounting software)
- Improve workflows across finance, front desk, and clinical teams
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Must be a certified member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant experience in accounting or finance roles
- Prior experience in healthcare, hospital, or diagnostic centres is an added advantage
- Strong experience in billing, reconciliation, and cash management
